Lemme see, where was I? Oh right, I haven't posted in ages and should really(really should) let the five people who read this thing know what's up in my life.

Winter is on the way out, this makes me INSANELY happy, I love the warm air, the melting, the SUN, the promise of another record flood down at the river I don't love so much but it doesn't really effect me.

The situation with Ben's car isn't as dire as it was, yeah the Daytona is still broken but my Da has promised we will work on it come spring. The real reason it isn't such a bad thing is that Ben found a car down in FL that he likes and it's not too far out of our desired price range, it's a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX, it won't be the cheap ($2000ish)get him to work car we were after but it will replace the Saturn as our main trip taking car, with the poor Saturn relegated to being my car for around base and town runs. I'm ok with this, it's a car he REALLY likes and the Saturn is getting on in years and miles.

I'm giving riding lessons to another friend(K) so my income is going up(yay) so far she's only ridden with me twice but she likes it a lot, K does have her own horse but it's gated(not suited to english riding) so she'll be riding either one of my horses or a friends horse for her lessons, and we can get away with it because my friend is preggers and needs her horse exercised, and I have to be there because K doesn't know how to ride english, we are sneaky LoL

I am very much looking forward to the end of the month, I'm signed up for a big riding clinic AKA three days of torturous riding lessons, I'm hoping it gives me a real edge with Holi for our upcoming summer of showing.

I'm also REALLY looking forward to my lover coming home in April, if he gets the car we are thinking of buying then I'll fly down and make the drive back with him, a nice little vacation right before our anniversary, sounds good to me.

My last waited for V-Day prezzie, and I like it a lot, tho to be honest I was expecting this ;)

My lover and I are apart on Valentines day, not that we make a huge deal of it normally, we don't need a holiday created by a greeting card company to tell each other how special they are. But being apart makes small acts of love harder to manage so this year we opted to do the gifts/cards thing.
He has promised a package is coming from him and something he ordered is on the way as well, I'll probably get it next week due to the president's day holiday, however yesterday I got an unexpected phone call from a local florist, asking if I would be around in the afternoon, I said I would and waited for my greenery to arrive.
This is what came for me.

Daww isn't it cute? two of the roses are regular and three have this beautiful swirly look, almost like crushed velvet, I'm not normally a rose person but I very much like these.

I am so incredibly pissed off right now, Ben's car is dead and I blame my parents/father for it, yet I cannot make them pay for a repair OR put money towards a new car seeing as they are just as hard up for cash as we are.
Here is the sordid tale.
They are here for the winter, normally they have two vehicles at but they were rushed this fall and only have one out here with them(the truck) so Ma had been using my car for getting back and forth to base, no problem there I'm fine with sharing. However my car is a wuss about cold, it does not like being outside in extreme sub-zero temps, it's new and can't have a cheap hose heater, it needs a engine block heater, so they opted to have Ma drive Ben's car more and get a cheap hose line heater for it, she still takes my car for town trips, again no problem.
Except that Ben's car hasn't been right sense the hose line heater went in, it's not circulating coolant correctly, it was overheating AND having no heat inside, not much fun for Ma, Da's been refusing to work on it, he didn't want to waste a day off greased up in the car, Ma just dealt with it thus far. Yesterday she and I decided to see if it had an air lock, let the radiator heat up, boil the bubbles out and fill it, well it boiled and bubbled and such but never quit, and it never circulated. SOooo today Da is off, they came over and decided to see if the thermostat was working, took it out and tested it(it wasn't working) so we put in a new thermostat(Ma had gotten one in town the other day) it STILL overheated, well crap, maybe the hose heater is in wrong and not letting coolant by? next Da took the thermostat out completely, watched what the radiator and engine did and announces that the engine has blown a head gasket. WTF!?! he explains "oh it's from running hot so many times" well fuck me, why has it been running hot? because something got fucked up when YOU put the hose heater in and YOU have refused to work on it sense. GARRRRRRGHHH

In fairness Da has said he'll pay for a repair but the car just isn't worth it IMO, I know Ben loves it and all but it's old, and it's got other things wrong with it not related to the engine. We are kinda looking into a new car, but the plan was to sell this one, not junk it. I'm just irritated and stressed and I don't need this right now.
